About The Kennebec Company

The Kennebec Company was founded in 1974 by artist and designer, Dave Leonard. Since 1977 the company has been co-owned and managed by Leonard and Jeff Peavey. It has been their love of architecture and period design that has guided the Kennebec Company for two generations. Our specialty, since the very beginning, has been period-inspired cabinetry, meticulously crafted using traditional techniques, blending historical sensitivity with contemporary utility. We are well versed in architectural styles from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries.

Located in Bath, Maine on the shores of the historic Kennebec River, our designers and cabinetmakers are the proud inheritors of centuries’ long traditions of the craftsmanship found in the many fine ships built up and down the river for the last three hundred years.
