Design Consultation
The design consultation is the beginning of the creative process, where your wishes and ideas and our experience in architectural design come together. We prefer to meet with you in your home in order to see the architectural details, as well as the décor and furnishings, and to learn what is truly important to you and the way that you and your family live.
But we can also meet with you here at our studio and showroom if you have architectural plans. If we meet here, any photographs you might have would be helpful to give us an idea of what we might have seen at the site. And if you are building, please bring the plans and any magazine cutouts that you have to give us an idea of your preferences.
During the consultation process we will:
- Examine the architectural details of your home.
- Measure the space(s) involved.
- Prepare a scaled plan drawing of the space(s).
- Discuss your design requirements and objectives and offer ways to achieve these.
- Develop a plan for the space, defining major appliances, work centers, preparation spaces, and storage areas.
- Budget the cost of cabinetry.
Meeting with you for a consultation takes several hours. The resulting plan will form the foundation upon which all further refinements are based.
