Design & Craftsmanship

The Kennebec Company is comprised of dedicated Maine craftsmen and designers who take great pride in their workmanship. Every project is a design collaboration between you and our designer. We will typically visit your home to see first-hand the architectural details that will guide our design. We sit with you, listen to your needs and ideas, make suggestions, and begin the drawings that will become the foundation of your design.

Each step in the creation of your cabinetry, from the design work and shop drawings to the selection of every piece of wood to be used, is taken with care and patience. Our cabinetry is built with traditional, time-honored methods, using mortise and tenon joinery, dovetailed drawers, and hand-applied varnishes and painted finishes. Every piece is handcrafted to order, with painstaking attention to detail and the highest standards of quality.
